I own an MY03 Subaru Impreza STI Type UK. It is a great car with excellent performance for the money.


My Subaru Impreza STi

The differences between the STi and the standard WRX is as follows:

  • STi engine
  • 6 speed box
  • Intercooler waterspray
  • Larger intercooler and air intake
  • Brembo brakes all round
  • Quick steering rack
  • Front LSD
  • Inverted struts all round
  • Updated interior
  • Large rear spoiler
  • Cherry Blossom (Pink) badges!
  • £5000 price difference!

    These photos were taken just after the wife cleaned it! They were taken with my Canon A70 Digital Camera.

    I also had a 97R Silver UK Turbo before the UK300. The engine had no modifications but it did have Prodrive Quickshift, MY98 wheels, Scoobysport backbox, MY99 4-pot brakes (fitted later), MY99 spoiler (fitted later)

    All Subaru cars are called Scooby's. They are called Scooby's because Subaru sounds like Scooby Doo. Sad isn't it!

    In only 2 years, the new shape Subaru Impreza has received a face-lift. This was as a result to falling sales (especially in Europe) as nobody could adjust to the Bug-eyed look! The UK300 model did, in my opinion, made it look a lot better but all Imprezas should have looked like it. The new shape Impreza is available from Feb 2003.

    Owning a Subaru Impreza means you are not concerned about good MPG. I only average about 23 MPG but I did manage to get 30 MPG on the motorway once. Here is a useful MPG calculator program:
